LIVE MUSIC for Opening DAY MAY 1!

DR. O'S MEDICINE SHOW

Dr. O's Medicine Show is a Plano based Americana band that plays a wide variety of acoustic music. Its stock-in-trade is old-time string music and tight harmony singing. The band was organized last year by lawyer Charles Orsburn ("Dr.O"), who returned home to North Texas from Houston. In 1980, while in Houston, Dr. O founded the Second Saturday Concert, a nationally recognized, monthly folk music show. He handed the show off to the Houston Folk Music Society, which still produces the show eight months each year. Dr. O, who has been performing and producing Americana music for over 30 years, plays mandolin and guitar. Another transplanted Houston musician and lawyer, Lewis Case, is also member of Dr. O's Medicine Show. Case has been playing Americana music since his graduation from Houston's renowned performing arts high school, HSPVA, as a classical violinist. He plays the fiddle and anything else he takes a notion to play in the medicine show. Two seasoned Plano musicians, one from Murphy and one from Flower Mound, round out the five piece group. David Seay, proprietor of David Seay Productions, plays guitar and harmonica, while Waldo Bunker, principal in Critical Watch internet Security Company, plays banjo and viola. Russ Fritz, a Murphy resident and Sysco systems "guru", plays guitar and saxophone. Vic Johnson, a retired American Airlines computer specialist plays the upright bass. All of the band members are vocalists. In the complex 21st century digital age, they love to make 19th century medicine show music from acoustic instruments and close harmony singing. Dr. O's Medicine Show is "good for what ails 'ya." For more information, call Dr. O at 832-338-8893 or email him at Dr.O@medicineshow.org. To support this digital medicine show, buy Watkins fine home products online at www.watkinsonline.com using your credit card and their ID#367857. "You will live better and they will too!"

GOLDEN HARVEST SPONSOR FOR 2010

EFA logo

We are so excited to announce a new Frisco Texas based company as our Golden Harvest Sponsor for the 2010 Farmer's Market Season, EFA Processing. EFA Processing is a debt negotiating company. For the second consecutive year, EFA Processing has been selected for the 2009 Best of Frisco Award in the Credit & Debt Counseling Services category by the U.S. Local Business Association (USLBA).
The USLBA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USLBA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.

Nationwide, only 1 in 70 (1.4%) 2008 Award recipients qualified as 2009 Award Winners. Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2009 USLBA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the USLBA and data provided by third parties.

We are proud and happy to welcome them to our Frisco Farmer's Market and are looking forward to a great year. Please stop by their website http://www.efaprocessing.com to read more about them or to see their services offered out to business owners and to see the difference they have made in Frisco.

Musical talent "DANO" entertained the Farmers' Market crowd.
We bought his CD and the kids sang his catchy tunes for hours.

Dano Music

Dan Parr (Dano) is an amazing performer and artist who understands the value that music has
in a child's life and education. Dan spent 14 years in education as a teacher, coach, and principal
so his wide range of experience with children from 5 to 13 years of age gives him the insight that
produces the positive, motivating, fun-loving, and educational benefits of music for all ages.

April 4, 2009 - OPENING DAY DRAWS NEAR

Dear Farmers Market Supporters,

Farmers Markets have been operating all over our country for well over 100 years. Farming is not only a way of life, it's their occupation ~ sharing their produce that is fresh from the farm. Bountiful colors and varieties of fruits and fresh vegetables - are all grown locally. Have you ever had fresh eggs? Tasted fresh honey? Tried true pasture raised beef, lamb, and pork? ( Ever tried a fresh tomato? Local ones are fleshy, ripe, and burst with flavor - vs. the pale, mealy wannabees that come in from out of state!)

These are all brought from the vine to our Farmers Market, and very often at a much lower price than in a regular market, and once you've tasted the good stuff - you'll be hooked! The Frisco Noon Lions Club supports that entire concept. We support the "buy local ~ buy fresh" idea that gives customers the freshest fruits and vegetables available to them, by sponsoring the Frisco Farmers Market at Frisco Square.

We are currently getting ready for our 3rd Season, which will begin on Saturday, May 2nd,and run for 22 weeks - thru - September 19, 2009. 8 am to 2 pm (or sell out) Also available at the Market: pasta, sauces, gourmet ingredients, cheesecake, cookies, muffins, cupcakes, and seafood.

This year there will also be a variety of crafters, bringing jewelry items, embroidery items done on the spot, fresh doggie treats, engraved glassware, and many others. On May 2nd, the FRISCO JAZZ BAND will be performing during the market.

We invite you to come to Frisco Square (Located off of Main Street - in front of City Hall, and the Library on Coleman Blvd) Bring the family - balloons for the kids, and plenty of free parking is available. If you would like any additional information, know of an organic grower who would like to become a vendor, or if you know a group, or someone that would like to entertain? Call Randi @ 214-407-6620 Thank you for your support! Come see us at the Farmers Market on May 2!!
